How to upgrade it:

Section VII - Furnace of Immortality

Upgrading Black Dragon / Level 70 -> Level 75 Boss Set

Where do I upgrade?
Furnace of Immortality (3256 , 2502) at Spring Town to upgrade.

Requirements to Upgrade

Your black dragon piece / Level 70 boss stone or fusion gear with boss stone inside

1 million gold is required to upgrade
The specific item that's required for your class
You can still upgrade when it is fusion into the appreal armors
When upgrading with appreal fusion armors, your armor will be gone, but your gems will stay (The Level 75 death set has no effectiveness %)


Specific Item for Upgrading - If you put Level 70 crusader body armor boss stone in + the upgrade item, then you'll get Level 75 crusader body armor death set piece (Not the whole set)

- Level 70 Ami crownstone cannot be upgraded.

Rightful Black Dragon Armor - Soul of Black Dragon * 1 + Original Black Dragon Armor

Level 75 Seal Master Death Armor - Soul of Styx * 1 + Level 70 Seal Master boss stone


Obtaining Souls for Upgrading

- Find the NPC Hocus Pocus (3265,2502) at Spring Town to combine items into Souls

- Items to combine into Souls can be found at level 5-18 of abaddon and Mirage Cities

Level 75 death set is upgraded from the level 70 boss set. =3

bd or death set better for sm?
bd PR higher but errrr.. i dunno @.@

In My Opinion:
BD red stats set is better for SM:

Reason 1:
red stats torso has a PR of 30.
Difference of 5 PR makes alot of difference in tanking crusader's slash
(almost = 2 lvl of BD soul)
With estimation of crusader having base damage of 3k - which is easily
reached with buffs and pots nowadays,
IS reduction diff = (5% x 3000) x 7.5 = 1125

Do keep in mind this is taking account only into PR diff alone w/o accounting
for differences in defence of both sets.

Reason 2
BD bonus of BD set
80% x 1.5 seal duration
That in itself is worth sacrificing the extra stats of death set


Reason 3
Speed boost from BD boots.
movement speed = crucial in pvp = survivability
slow moving Sm = sitting duck = stunned and GG


Then is Death set totally useless for SM,
I will say NO...

looking at the torso itself
U will notice whooping +15 con and +9spr and +8 % defence bonus
with a whooping +40% Sp recovery rate bonus and + 6 Sp recovery rate bonus

What this means that in purely PvE situation, death set might be better.

Detail explanation:

Have u noticed how ur pure con SM with con ring con pet when doing
BD tends to deplete their SP boost when doing bosses like BD
if they diligently seal, cursed fire, abyss mire and heal/recover.
The BD set doesnt have enuff SP recovery rate bonus if skills
are used intensively over prolonged period to keep up.

So potentially death set will have the edge in pve.

Besides,
the def bonus and extra con will be better suited for tanking low
damage npcs/ mobs. (Do remember a small tip:
PR works wonder in big number damage --> i.e illusion slash.
But defence has slight edge if the damage in lower range i.e
npcs and mobs)


Hope my analysis of this 2 sets of eq will help u decide.
I personally likes to pvp =D
so BD FTW.

Yep, I don't think Death Set is good for all classes except Crusader.

Example Sharpshooter needs Black Dragon Set more than Death Set. : x

Err beg to differ...

Death sets is in fact good for Crusader, Champion and Voyager

For SS, Cleric and SM I will choose BD over their death sets.
Since this is a SM section of forum, I won't elaborate further.

i would prefer ds for cleric
